Divemaster / Marine Mammal Observer / Product Developer. Lesley: Swim Assistant / Marketing Manager

Brief info

David (“Dr. Dave”) and Lesley joined DSA as guests on its inaugural wild dolphin swim tour in February 2010 – and enjoyed the experience so much they never left! Being lovers of the earth and all its creatures, they have a particular affinity with the ocean and are keen scuba divers. They have swum with humpback whales in Tonga, taken guests swimming with whale sharks when they worked for a dive resort in Cenderawasih Bay, Indonesia, and dived all over the world with sharks, manta/eagle rays, sea snakes, turtles, barracuda and lots of other cool critters!

David works on the tours for DSA as a Marine Mammal Observer and Divemaster. Off the boat, he assists with safety and training procedures, as well as overseeing dolphin research for the company. Lesley works on the tours for DSA as a Swim Assistant and has also been the company’s Marketing Manager since 2015. Together, they have published “A Book About Dolphins”, containing interesting and up-to-date information from the latest dolphin research. They are also both trained in marine mammal rescue and are members of ORRCA (Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia), OCCI (Ocean & Coastal Care Initiatives) and the MPA (Marine Parks Association).
